When Halloween comes around, you go all out and decorate everything in the Halloween spirit. You put creepy stuff around your house, you get a creepy costume, and you prepare for a spooky Halloween party (or is that just me?). You can’t say you went all out unless you decorate your computer as well.

This is where the Acez Software-developed Halloween Haunting Screen Saver comes in. This application, as the name so adequately points out, is a screensaver. Not just any screensaver – it is a spooky one that displays creepy 3D skulls, evil Jack-O-Lanterns, scary ghosts, sinister bats, and bloody eyeballs on your monitor.

The screensaver also displays a full moon in the upper left hand side of the monitor – but if you don’t like it, then you can remove it. Speaking of which, you should know that you get to select what scary element you want to see on the screensaver. You can select to see just skulls, just Jack-O-Lanterns, just ghosts, just bats, or just eyeballs. If you can’t make up your mind, just leave the “Random Display” option selected. This option will randomly select one scary image and use just that one. For example it can randomly select bats and display only bats while the screensaver is up and running.

Scary skulls, and ghosts flying around your desktop is not enough to get you spooked. Well, Halloween Haunting Screen Saver has something to accompany the scary images – scary sounds. There are about 8 different spooky sounds – my favorite was the beating heart.

Before you get Halloween Haunting Screen Saver and put it to the test, pay attention to these technical details:

Download – the download weighs in at close to 2MB. At such a lightweight download size, it should only take a moment for the download to complete; even if you are on a less than spectacular internet connection.

Installation – you can install Halloween Haunting Screen Saver on just about any version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. Pay attention during the installation process because Halloween Haunting Screen Saver comes bundled with a few extras – RelevantKnowledge, Dealio toolbar, and a free version of The Weather Channel Desktop. If you don’t want these extra bits, click “Decline” and they will not be installed. Because Halloween Haunting Screen Saver comes bundled with these extras, your antivirus application may flag the screensaver as dangerous and not let you download/install it.

Limitations – there are no limitations. Halloween Haunting Screen Saver is freeware and you can use it free of charge for as long as you want.
